Saket K. Ambasht, MD
Dr. Ambasht is a board-certified, fellowship-trained gastroenterologist who also practices hepatology. He is an expert endoscopist who performs advanced therapeutic endoscopy including treatment of ulcers, bleeding control, polyp removal, and clearing bile duct of gallstones.
Dr. Ambasht has served as the Endoscopy Committee chairman at Providence Alaska Medical Center. He is a current member of the Medical Executive Committee at Alaska Regional Hospital. He is also a member of the Board of Managers at the Surgery Center of Anchorage. He has appeared on Line One with Dr. Thad Woodard about colon cancer screening in October 2014.
Dr. Ambasht completed 21 years of military service in the United States Air Force in 2008 with a rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After completing his military service, he started a solo private practice. He has lived in Alaska since 2004.
He completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at Wilford Hall Air Force Medical Center and Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He earned his M.D. degree from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS), Bethesda, Maryland. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley.
Dr. Ambasht has been married to Nishi for nearly 30 years. Dr. Ambasht “shoots” Alaska scenery.
